As I was having breakfast this morning I realized time is running out fast and soon I am going to finish my undergraduate studies and boooom…what next? The thought did not excite me. I know my life is not the same as Liz Gilberts’ in Eat, Pray, Love and I can’t just pick up my clothes and leave for an adventure, but what if…maybe…just maybe…I do that? What if we live backwards? What if we start our lives with enough money to enjoy our free-time (without the pressure of the future because we are going backwards now) and work whatever we want and then somewhere along the way we decide what we want to study or how we want to spend the rest of our lives. What if we were to read books backwards? Maybe this time I want to read how the story and all the characters fade out little by little.
Tomorrow’s right around the corner
I’ll get there somehow
But I’m stuck in the meantime
And I love the now
“You need to learn how to select your thoughts just the same way you select your clothes every day. This is a power you can cultivate. If you want to control things in your life so bad, work on the mind. That’s the only thing you should be trying to control.”
― Elizabeth Gilbert,
