‘Tour de Europe’ dhe pak Judy Garland

“Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high
There’s a land that I’ve heard of once in a lullaby.
Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream,
Really do come true.”

Mendimet positive vazhdun prej atij momenti me m’përcjellë gjatë ton ditës. Filloni ditën me mendime positive edhe shpërblene veten me ni ditë t’mbushun me lumturi.

Po megjithatë, masi fillova me i editu fotot, vendosa me fillu prap me dizajnu me Illustrator, edhe i bona disa kolazhe t’ çuditshme.

Ama sigurisht, masi që m’pëlqen shumë me eksploru qytetet e tjera duke ecë, e detyrova edhe familjen me ecë me mu he he.

I was listening to Judy Garland this morning, mostly because I’ve been abusing IDMb’s list of old movies, and I got stuck in the first few lyrics. Where’s this land over the rainbow? I’ve read before that the lyrics were written by the son of a Russian-Jewish immigrant, and when you connect the lyrics to the Holocaust the song gets much more meaningful and powerful. But this time, the first few lyrics made me think of every place and person who made me feel happy and safe. Positive thoughts kept running through my mind and continued running through my mind the whole day. I realized that the land over the rainbow, the land where dreams really do come true, is a place you make. It’s all up to you, really. Start your day with positive thoughts and reward yourself with a day full of happiness.

I wanted to tell you about my trip around Germany last week, but as always, I prefer pictures speak for themselves. This time though, as I was arranging the pictures, I decided to start using Illustrator again and I designed some really weird stuff.

Berlin was amazing. We had booked a cozy, old hotel room, not very expensive and with breakfast included (yay for hotel breakfast my favorite thing in the planet). For three days we tried to capture as much as we could. We visited the Berlin Wall, Bradenburg Gate, Tier Garten, Sony Center, Alexanderplatz, Potsdamer Platz, Checkpoint Charlie and a lot more. I was impressed at how big the city was, we had to take the metro most of the time. But of course, since I love exploring new cities by walking, I forced my family to walk as-well.  During these days I also gave myself and body a much needed break from workouts, work and healthy eating, and indulged myself with delicious doners and ice-cream. After Berlin, we rented a car and drove to Leipzig, Nuremberg, Stuttgart and lastly Zurich. Every city had its own magic, but I really loved Nuremberg.

Hope you had a good Thursday.

Yours truly,

Fjo
